Not completely ready to give up shampoos and ride the ban wagon of shampoo bars ? So am I. Though I try to recycle all the plastic I use in toiletries and makeup, I can’t Help but wonder why there isn’t any other option available.
A few weeks back I had come across a brand called VILVAH that was 100% sustainable and organic as well. Their shampoo n conditioners come in aluminium bottles that are easier to recycle than plastic.
This shampoo is one of their best sellers and for good reasons, not only does it look good but it feels good on the hair.
The brand is also completely transparent about the ingredients used in their products.
From packaging to products this brand has my gear as it uses no plastic what so ever. The products are sent in cardboard boxes and the products are wrapped in a brown corrugated paper ( as seen in the picture above).
Goat Milk Shampoo Review
With the goodness of actual Goats milk, this shampoo is the one thing I’ve been looking for since forever. The shampoo doesn’t have a herbal nor a floral scent, it’s more of an Amber or musk sort of scent and it last for a really long time. The texture is light and smooth.
Weight - 200ml
Price- 590/-
Pros -
• It does exactly what it claims to do.
• My hair has never felt this soft and silky before.
• I usually need to blow dry my hair, because if I don’t I end up with hair looking like Mufasa, from the lion king. But now I didn’t have to.
• There was 0 frizz and my hair maintained its natural waves.
• Doesn’t cause build up like a normal shampoo would.
• Reduces hairfall with the first two washes itself.
Cons-
Just one problem with using 100% natural plant derived products is that you can’t expect them to work like the commercial products do.
• This shampoo didnt froth up lather like a usual shampoo does.
• I needed to use two times the amount of shampoo I would usually use while using a commercial shampoo.
• Could cause your shampoo bottle to get empty a bit sooner.
Light Conditioner Review
With a soothing Aloe Vera and nourishing Shea butter base, this conditioner is all your hair will ever need. It’s scent compliments the shampoo‘s scent very well and it has just a hint of jasmine to add to its delicate perfume.
Weight- 200ml
Price- 580/-
Pros -
• Very light weight and non greasy.
• Easily absorbs into the hair follicles.
• Easy to rinse off.
• Causes the driest if ends to gain nourishment.
• Makes hair extremely shiny and glossy.
• Does not leave the hair feeling heavy.
Cons -
None ! I can’t find even one fault with this conditioner.
Final thoughts
I completely agree that the prices are way too high for 200 ml of product. But I also know how important hair is to a woman and I’m sure if you are willing to forego affordability and purchase these products, you will not only be saving your hair but also the Earth.
Want it to purchase your own Earth friendly shampoo ?
